Col. Margaret Berryman, Fort Stewart U.S. Army Medical Department Activity commander and Winn ACH director passes the unit’s colors to Command Sgt. Maj. Winn ACH, 3rd ID dust off, validate warfighter mass casualty care
Fort Stewart Emergency Services and 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade medics transfer a simulated injured patient from 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team between each other for transport to Winn Army Community Hospital emergency department for further care during a mass casualty exercise March 7. The exercise began with the armored brigade requesting aviation medical evacuation support. The two 3rd Infantry Division units participated in the capstone event for exercise Spartan Focus, one of the wickets in the armored brigade’s journey to being ready for its warfighter mission for deployment anytime, anywhere. Winn implements culture change via virtual visits, shows resiliency during winter storm
Pediatrics chief Dr. Matthew Fults conducts a scheduled virtual visit with a beneficiary Jan. 10 at Winn Army Community Hospital. The pediatric clinic was the first to go live with My Military Health, a change in culture for both healthcare providers and beneficiaries. Primary care at Winn went live on Feb. 10 "The intent of these changes is to deliver care when patients need it in an efficient and timely manner," Fults said. "This is just the beginning—stay tuned as other clinics embrace this innovative approach to care."

Winn Army Community Hospital Welcomes New Senior Enlisted Advisor
Winn Army Community Hospital welcomed Command Sgt. Maj. Mario Wible as its new senior enlisted advisor in a ceremony at Fort Stewart’s Cashe Garden March 19, marking a leadership transition for the medical facility. The event, attended by distinguished guests, soldiers, civilians and family members, marked a significant transition for the hospital and the U.S. Army Medical Department Activity (MEDDAC) at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield.

Winn ACH, 3rd ID dust off, validate warfighter mass casualty care
Winn Army Community Hospital and the 3rd Infantry Division joined forces March 7 with a mass casualty exercise to validate medical readiness in providing life-saving care for the battlefield wounded. From the dusty frontlines to the stark trauma room, six 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team Soldiers playing the role of wounded—including the artistry of moulage to simulate gruesome combat zone wounds—provided medical Soldiers and staff training in applying critical care to save warfighters’ lives.

Winn implements culture change via virtual visits, shows resiliency during winter storm
Winn Army Community Hospital’s primary care clinic recently went live with scheduled virtual visits, an initial step in moving forward with My Military Health. The program aims to improve patient access and provider workflow. Initial results indicate positive progress, said Amanda M. Lubbe, primary care’s head nurse at Winn. The first official day the clinic offered virtual visits was Feb. 10. "Our first week of scheduled virtual visits saw 64 completed appointments," Lubbe said.

Hospital senior enlisted advisor moves on to Army medical center
Winn Army Community Hospital bid farewell to Command Sgt. Maj. Jan E. Miller during a relinquishment of responsibility ceremony at the Patriot Auditorium on Feb. 19. Miller relinquished his duties, marking the end of a tenure defined by leadership, innovation and unwavering commitment to both military and civilian health care initiatives. Miller is moving on to Fort Sam Houston, Texas’s Brooke Army Medical Center to be the sergeant major there and continue his service in military health care leadership.
