Ambulatory Surgery Care Unit (ASU)

You’re scheduled for surgery now what?
  • After you schedule your surgery with your clinic, you will need to go to the Admissions and Dispositions (A&D) office, located on the 1st floor of the hospital near the main entrance to register for your surgery. This must be done prior to your pre-operative interview. If you skip this part your interview may be delayed resulting in your surgery date being cancelled or changes.

Preoperative Interview
  • Once your surgery has been scheduled and you have been to A&D, an appointment will be made for you to have a preoperative interview. This may be done by phone or face-to-face depending on our assessment of your medical needs. During this interview, a member of our nursing staff will talk with you about your upcoming surgery and obtain important needed for care. In some cases, you may be asked to have blood work, x-rays or other tests that are essential, completed BEFORE surgery.
